<descript>
This dataset depicts the polygon boundaries of the parcels of land within the Parish of East Baton Rouge, with the exception of those parcels that fall within the incorporated cities of Baker and Zachary. This data was derived from many sources and conveys the best currently (2004) available representation of the parcels and as such, the best currently available territorial bounds of the Parish of East Baton Rouge.
<purpose>This dataset provides a representation of parcel polygons within East Baton Rouge Parish for the purposes of portraying nominal and statistical attributes for each parcel. Groups of parcels will compose subsets of other geospatial data.</purpose>

<attrlabl>ADDRESS_NUM</attrlabl>
<attrdef>ADDRESS_NUM stands for "Address Number" of the properties in respective lot.</attrdef>
<attrdefs>This information was recorded during the field survey of the respective parcel. When an address was not found in the field, it was researched at the office. In such instances, GIS staff referred to the Polk City Directories for Baton Rouge, the Baton Rouge telephone book, maps that were provided by City-Parish Mapping and Housing Office, or the scanned subdivisions files provided by the Department of Public Works (DPW) Inspections. The Polk City Directories are a compilation of listings that provide information on various aspects of the Baton Rouge community. These directories were utilized to determine the address for a particular lot when such data was not available in the field.</attrdefs>
