Abstract: The Hydrography layer is an area geometry depicting the various water features that include the rivers, streams, creeks, lakes, etc of East Baton Rouge Parish.
Purpose: It was created primarily to depict the water features in the Parish and also to serve as a reference to digitize lots, adjacent to the water bodies.

The currentness of the Hydrography feature is based on ground conditions existing in the 1996 Aerial Photography and no additional features were digitized apart from the features as seen in the existing aerial photography. The Hydrography features will be updated and maintained by the Department of Public Works in the future.

Maintenance and Update Frequency:
The Hydrography features were last updated using the Aerial photography of 1996, and no further maintenance was performed. It is expected to be updated during the year 2004, when the City-Parish receives new aerial photography.
